searching for time

illustrationphoto: this is how i remember it

in 1990 my father, a now "grounded" old-school-tattooed saylor, gave me his old LED watch from the 70´s. at that time "swatch"-wristwatches was the buzz, and i did not have the knowledge about the fact that the world always copies itself in 25 year circles. i therefore put on my thankful fake happy-face and hid it in a drawer - and forgot it. over the years i have moved seven times. things have been lost, thrown away, destroid, given away and forgotten. my fathers old watch was one of those things.

one month ago i set out to see if i could find it again. i emptied out all my boxes, drawers and closets. in a small, bulky and dusty shoeboxand at the buttom in one of my closets i found traces of the old wristwatch. then i remembered; at some point i time, fueled by my thoughs that gold looked stupid, i dismantled it and tried to put the case on a leather band. what happened next i do not remember. all that is left of my fathers old watch is now two golden bands.

mindmap on wall by post-it™

in my search for input i went back too school to study art-history at the "university of oslo". suddenly i was faced with a curriculum of 1000 pages per topic. so, when you are a visual thinker, you do anything to pass the italien renaissance-exam.

my nephew on a cake. i went for the peanuts.

C64

a my friend and i suddenly realized that the time had flown. it had been 20 years since we, pimplefaced, unsecure towards girls and drunk after one bottle of beer, agreed that "space invaders" on the C64 was the best game in the world. fortunatly, nothing had changed - except the pimples.

"harry, im home"

when you are away from home, take your home with you. and when you are inside, take the outside in.

location: car fair 2006, fredrikstad

footnote:
in some circles i norway, this car can be reffered to as "harry", ex; "that car is harry". the term "harry" is slang for bad taste. this term can also describe noumerous other things; "harry music", "harry clothes", or "harry hair".

"harry" can even be applied to whole "towns", and entire "countries".

the term emerged among the upperclass-teens i oslo, in the beginning of the 1900s, and was used to describe persons belonging to the working-class. another reason for the term is that english surnames was popular among this class.

keep in mind that "bad taste" is subjective, there is no precise defenition . you decide!

short at the ears, please

some shops-owners do anything to get attention from potential customers. this hairdresser decided to make a windowdisplay with trolls, mountains, water and boats. one of the boats had sunk.

this hairdresser, on the other hand, reaches out to the kids.
