amor and psyche

as a contrast to all the digital, moving, colorful, noisy and clickable stuff on the net, i wanted to post a picture of this sculpture. it is not digital, it does not move, it has no color, its quiet and nothing happens when you click on it.

this sculpture, "amor and psyche" was made by antonio canova in 1793. in my opinion it is one of the most beautiful sculptures i have ever seen. its perfectly balanced, simple lines and tells its story with a harmonic, calm whisper.

if your knowledge of greek mythology is a bit rusty here the story of "amor and psyche". the extreme short version is that the soul is immortal through love. and love, my friends...yes, you know.
