iconology
for six months now i have been on a journey to understand more on how images work and how and why they effect us all. the latest book i came across is "iconology" by w.j.t mitchell, a professor of english and art history at the university of chicago and associated with the emergent fields of visual culture and iconology (the study of images across the media). its pretty heavy book to read if you are not used to read academic publications and if english is not your first language, like in my case.
anyhow, if you are a bit tired of heavy colorful books that only looks cool in your bookshelf - this one is for you.
